ICT & Telecom
Information security is a 'licence to operate' for the ICT and Telecom sector. If you don't have your information security in order within your organisation, you are no longer credible with your customers. After all, who else should they trust on this subject other than your own ICT & Telecom supplier. That this is an important issue is unfortunately in the news every day due to negative but regrettable examples. All the more reason to show your stakeholders that you do have it in order. Whether you do have information security in order within your organisation can be demonstrated by an independent and impartial audit carried out by DigiTrust on ISO27001, NEN7510 and BIO.
Government
All government organisations must comply with the BIO. The question that exists is; how do you demonstrate this? Of course, the BIO states that you do not have to certify; indeed, you cannot certify on the BIO alone.
However, there are two possibilities;
- We conduct a separation BIO compliance audit at your premises, only on the BIO management measures.
- We conduct an ISO27001 and BIO audit. After all, BIO also refers to ISO27001.
Having ISO27001 certification, which includes BIO measures, gives the board independent and impartial proof that they have taken all measures to protect citizens' data.
Suppliers
Suppliers to government organisations must also comply with BIO. Having an ISO27001 certificate from your supplier is not enough. After all, they must also comply with BIO.

ICT & Telecom
Healthcare providers in the Netherlands must comply with NEN7510, NEN7512 and NEN7513. What is not explicitly stated in the royal decree (and in NIS2 / Cyber Security Act) is that a healthcare organisation must actually be certified. However, inspections do indicate that it is a wise choice by the board to do so.
By having a NEN7510 certification, your organisation can demonstrate that an impartial party has objectively assessed whether you have a properly functioning information security management system (ISMS), in accordance with the rules in the NEN7510. With this certificate, you can answer to inspections.
